Win the Day in the First Fifteen Minutes
Do the best plants run on longer meetings? No. They run on short ones that actually start the day.
The Problem
Here's what happens on most floors. The shift starts cold. People wander in, grab a machine, and find out about the quality hold or the short-staffed line an hour too late. By ten o'clock everybody's reacting instead of running the plan, and the leader swears the team is aligned because "we talk all day."
You can't fix a day at noon that started without a plan. The information exists. It's trapped in one person's head, buried in an email nobody opened, or waiting on a walk to the far end of the floor that happens two hours too late.
The Shift
Set the day at the start. Fifteen minutes, standing up, same time and same spot, before the machines are even warm. Run it off a simple board so it stays short, and run it every single day so it becomes muscle memory.
You set the day before it starts, or the day sets you.
Tool Drop: The 15-Minute Huddle Board
Steal this and run it tomorrow morning. You need a whiteboard with five zones and fifteen honest minutes. Run it in seven steps:
Set the frame. Same time, same spot, everyone standing.
Safety first. Any incident, near miss or hazard from yesterday.
Yesterday in 60 seconds. Plan vs. actual, and why.
Today's plan. What we're making and who's where.
Blockers. What's in the way, and who owns clearing it.
One recognition. Name one person who did something right.
Close and commit. Every owner says their one commitment out loud.
Run the huddle every morning this week. By Friday you'll feel the floor move differently.

The Cheat Code
You set the day before it starts, or the day sets you.
Want this running on every shift without another spreadsheet to babysit? The Leadership Operation System puts these tools on every leader's phone and shows you, on one page, who is using them.
Golden Nugget
A crew that starts together doesn't scatter by noon.
Warmly,
Dave
